ABOUT US

We are a family run business, a husband and wife team.

We have been resurfacing and re-enamelling baths and sinks since 1986. We believe we deliver the best job possible and use the best materials available. I constantly test and work on perfecting and improving the resurfacing service we deliver. Our preparation and techniques are secound to none. Our aim is to provide the best resurfacing job that is possible to achieve.

My wife has been involved in the office side of things for over 10 years and along with our office staff will do the utmost to answer any questions or queries you may have regarding resurfacing or re enamelling your bath or other sanitary wear.

Our technicians are highly trained professionals. Most have well over 10 years spraying experience. They have been trained to provide an exceptional service. They will do a professional job of resurfacing your enamel bath.

We hate the thought of beautiful old antique baths or basins being broken up and disposed of. Resurfacing or re enameling is by far the better choice in our opinion.  Rather than replacing with a new cast iron or plastic bath you can restore your lovely old bath to its former glory and retain a little bit of heritage. Making a new cast iron bath or plastic bath takes a lot of energy. The carbon footprint is high. Restoration takes very little energy comparatively and is more environmentally friendly than buying a new cast iron bath or plastic bath. The carbon footprint is not 0 but it is a lot less than having a new bath made.

Off course there is a market for both old and new. There will always be people who want the latest design & there will always be people who love restoring older designs.

When it comes to baths we are lovers of the older vintage bath and are enthusiastic about restoring an old bath back to its former glory.

We can resurface or re-enamel your bath, sink, toilet, shower tray or even bidet. So whatever your bath or bathroom renovation needs don’t hesitate to contact us.

Most of the resurfacing work is done in situ. However if your bath or even bathroom suite is not plumbed in and you wish it to be resurfaced then you can send it to our workshop to be resurfaced. The workshop facility is particularly helpful if you are mid renovating your property or if you have managed to pick up a nice old bath or sink that needs resurfacing but have not plumbed it in yet. We can also custom resurface your bath. So Union Jacks or specialist metallic finishes are possible.

As well as resurfacing baths and bathroom suites we also restore old taps. So if your taps are leaking or stiff we can re-condition them. Also we can chrome or nickel plate them.

We sell Hudson Reed taps, shower mixer taps, showers, radiators and accessories.

We restore and sell original Victorian and Edwardian antique taps. We have original Globe taps or  for sale.

We have a range of original Victorian cast iron baths for sale.

In Scotland we resurface baths in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Ayr, The Scottish Borders, (Melrose, Hawick, Kelso, Peebles etc ) and as far north as Aberdeen.

In England we operate in the South East primarily. We cover areas such as London, Chelsea, Richmond, Tottenham, Westminster, Sutton, Crawley, Croydon, Brighton, Burgess Hill, Hove, Gatwick, Surrey, Kent, Essex, Slough and all surrounding areas.

I have a cast iron roll top bath that, some years ago, was painted. The paint is coming off in patches. The bath has a whirlpool system with 33 small inlets in the bottom. I would like to get it resurfaced if possible. Could you let me know if it is possible and a very approximate estimate of cost. I live in Kingsclere which is between Basingstoke and Newbury, is this in your service area? I hope to hear good news from you. Sincerely, John Rylatt

    • Hi,
The bath needs this surface completely stripped of. Then it can be professionally restored. We can certainly provide this service depending on where you are. Otherwise you can google “Bath Resurfacing…..” insert your area. Hopefully you should get a local reputable company

    • This is a short note to thank you for using our services in the past and to inform you that we now have a chip repair kit that you can purchase. This is a kit that is specifically made for baths that have been restored by The Bath Business. So if you have had a little accident this is something that hopefully will be of some use. The Kit can be used as a chip repair kit in it’s own right BUT the area repaired my be a different shade of white. Used on our own baths it will be the same shade of white. Please let us know if you are interested in purchasing our chip repair kit. This KIT is only available to our past customers.

Just about to throw out the old bathroom suite whilst renovating our french house but though I could rescue the double sink. However, it is a yucky pale blue and I would like it white. It measures approx 120mm long x 55mm at its widest point in the middle. Its approx 22mm deep. Could you advise on price etc.?

Hello I have a cast iron roll top bath with feet that needs re enamelling and sandblasted(?) on the outside. Just read your blurb and am intrigued with the Union Jack design! ? Any photos of that one please. I live in St Boswells in the Scottish Borders. The bath is in a shed near Selkirk and needs picking up and dropped at your workplace. How much is this all going to cost ? Can you do this for me?
